The MISH Ohana:
Aloha! I’m Tracie… living my secret dream that I had for many years. I’m 4th generation living in Hilo, a wife, mom of three, and love to eat, bake, and cook (in that order), cardio kickbox and Kajukenbo (the original mixed martial art) with my girlfriends. I also love to buy things for MISH so that gift-givers and their recipients feel the Aloha Spirit – all over the world.
“Sally” MISH Founder & Fairy Godmother
“Carole” is a wonder and has worked at MISH almost as long as it’s been open. She’s my MISH-Mom, has a great laugh and a really long braided pony tail.
“Vicki” the weekend warrior, has a fun sense of humor – and has the biggest heart of gold.
“Zeke” the display artist/magician – If you’ve seen our tiny shop, you’ll see why he’s a magician. Don’t mean to brag, but people say we have the best window displays on our block, thanks to Zeke.

Later she opens “Bears Coffee” next door, and a second “Most Irresistible Shop, Too!” in Prince Kuhio Plaza, which eventually she sells but keeps her original MISH store and moves to its current location at 256 Kamehameha Avenue on Bayfront in the heart of Downtown Hilo.
1998-Sally meets Tracie Yoshimoto, new Marketing Manager at Prince Kuhio Plaza, who loved to shop at MISH as a little girl. Their paths cross again in 2005, and Sally mentions she may one day sell MISH. Tracie gives Sally her phone number, and Sally puts it in her wallet.
2013-After 37 years in business and approaching the lively age of 70, Sally is ready to spend more time in her Volcano Village garden and travel. She finds Tracie’s phone number in her wallet and calls….
